La Cumbre supports collaborative, cultural and artistic endeavor to foster interdependence (and belonging) between disciplines and people. The residencies and workshops embody communication between individuals, communities and cultural traditions.
We seek to increase cross-cultural engagement in the arts and sustainable living through residencies, workshops, communal activities, education and perpetuation of these generational skills. Current and future projects create and share a model for local and international organizations to interact as they link local and indigenous arts and crafts practitioners with related experts from around the world. La Cumbre encourages innovation while integrating, preserving and sustaining art, culture and traditional skills as a way of life while providing a foundation for individual and group creativity and reliable, resilient, sustainable livelihoods.
